Halloween in the movies
We tried to search for funny parodies for Halloween related films, like Saw and that. But none of them are funny. In fact they’re all wank. So we turned to the daddy of Halloween films… Halloween itself. And despite having a decent homepage, parts of their site are a jpg constructed heaven sitting in a world of black, with things like the chance to join the ‘current contest’ to meet an actor who played Michael Myers (in 2005!): halloweenmovies.com/features_lobby.html
Halloween all year!
Talking of updatedness, there’s a site out there calling itself Halloween 365. So you’d guess that’s constant spooky fun, like a Goth version of Christmas Everyday. But no, their most recent blog post is ‘Welcome to the Halloween 2009 Season’ and the one before that was ‘Happy Halloween 2008′. So that would be once a year then. Like everybody else. See if you can find any good stuff in amongst it all: 365halloween.com
What to wear
Halloween Online is the don of all these sites, with lots of segments, covering everything you could possibly want to know about this time of year. They’ve got a bit on costumes, rather cleverly spotting that most people will want to dress up as Jackson – without even making a mention of Thriller! Here’s the vital information: halloween-online.com/costumes/michael-jackson-costume.html
Risky business
Remember kids, that Halloween can be a dangerous time of year. So parents, don’t go giving them real knives! Though if the media are to be believed, they all carry them anyway. Next to their Uzis. Our favourite misguided advice: “Treating your kids to a spooky Halloween dinner will make them less likely to eat the candy they collect before you have a chance to check it for them”. As if. halloween-safety.com/halloween_safety_kids.html
Warning: just because its Halloween does not give you the right to put floating ghosts all over the page. Jeez, we’re trying to read here: holidays.net/halloween/
