Clearly, before we came along the world only thought about the idea of a ‘web gun’ literally and it turns out popular culture throws up a couple of examples. These are actual things, actually titled webgun, so you might be forgiven for thinking this was our influence. In fact we aren’t quite so knowledgable/sad. One from the sixties courtesy of Doctor Who bad-guys and even one from the forties in a lame early attempt at Spiderman. There’s a Wiki for everything it would seem…
The idea of making Spiderman a reality is definitely a cool one though and probably a lot of people have wanted to bring down bad guys with nets as this video shows. However the seeing it happen for real just looks a bit pathetic. As if draping some string over you would be anything other than a mild annoyance. But so far, so obvious.
The real meat of this investigation comes when you stumble across the website Christian gun owner with the slightly intimidating mantra of ‘Christian first, American second, Gun owner third’ as if this is some kind of threat… I wonder what *is* the deadliest religion? Essentially it’s a website of reviews of fire-arms, although with the double oddness having to remind you they are on the web and lots of religion laced throughout the navigation and content.
The fact is guns scare us and mixing it in with the righteous world of Gods and mythical stories just makes things more worrying. This is a corner of the web we advise you to stay well clear of.
To relax and get away from all this, this site owner has created an escape. Please visit the lovely world of Fishing From Small Boats and take in the simple joy of the wild unformatted site design. Ahhh… it’s like you’re really there.
