The familiar formula again on show which for those who don’t know goes something like existing ‘cool’ band/artist/product + retro styles of sneakers =  $$$. SO what have Adidas cleverly come up with this time, only STAR WARS themed ruddy sneakers, which when we first heard the whispers back in Nov 09 thought we might be pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately not, Adidas have well and truly served up a crock of shit this time, not only does the collection look tacky as f^*k they are insanely expensive.

But that’s not all, to go with the cheap looking collection is a cheap looking website! So we have to give them some credit for continuity, buckle up for this bumpy ride which can be found at adidas.com/campaign/deathstar *note there is a piss poor ‘interactive’ video you have to sit through before you get to the guff that Adidas must have knocked up in the empire’s shed. We cringed at the original footage of Star Wars that has been carefully spliced with crispy vector graphics and photos from your Facebook profile (if you opt to let the application rummage through your pics.)

Our favourite cock-up is the brilliantly terrible ‘Yoda Boots‘These have to be the worst of the worst and we like to think George Lucas would be spinning in his X-Wing. The Vader model are almost as bad, but seem to have been designed with the Dark Lord as a client rather than trying to capture the essence of his character. We think Darth might be rocking these in the Death Star gym and are very very bland.

Then to make things worse Adidas went and released this odd teaser/trailer/failer which seems to show off the roster of big names they have on their books as apposed to showing off the products. But what do we know about advertising…
